Hi, I’m Shao-Yi, a fresher at Oxford studying English Language and Literature. As you might expect from my major, I love to read! At the moment I’m interested in Victorian literature (Dickens is wonderful), as well as how visual mediums like film bring narratives to life on screen. When I’m not reading, you’ll probably find me watching new films or rewatching old favourites; I would highly recommend Studio Ghibli's Only Yesterday and Ang Lee's Eat Drink Man Woman! In the less literary realm of geopolitics, I'm interested to explore how the US-China rivalry plays out in the Southeast Asian arena.
